The Village of Los Gigantes takes its name from Acantilados de Los Gigantes, the Cliffs of the Giants, a stunning rock formation on Tenerife’s coast, which sweeps from the sea to a height of 800 meters.
The village has been purpose built as a resort, with a bustling marina, sensitively designed to make the most of this breath-taking location. Boat trips and diving excursions are available in the village but many come to sit and enjoy a coffee while observing the to-and-fro amid the yachts and motorboats.
It’s also a great place to wander of an evening, as you decide on your choice of atmospheric hostelry in which to spend the evening – from atmospheric local bars and cafés to British Pubs with live music and big-screen sports.
To the South, Los Gigantes merges into Puerto de Santiago and beyond that into Play de la Arena. There are shops, boutiques, and supermarkets in the area, all of which are an inexpensive taxi ride from Royal Sun Resort.
