The Tenerife Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) is introducing a new exhibition module showing the location and tracing the history of scattered archaeological vestiges. Since the European conquest in the late fifteenth century, the Guanche mummies have been the objects of pillage and plunder. Valuable specimens ended up in distant lands. This module shows five of these mummies, which were recently brought back to the island.

In addition, there is a replica of the mummy kept at the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid. Found in Barranco de Erques, it is an adult male specimen, and it makes the best-preserved human remains of the Guanche culture.
